D Troop Queries 2000-2003

RJSIEBE@aol.com - 9 Sep 2003 -
I have just recently found your wed site didn't know these places existed. And looking through all the info I see a guy named Charnol Deloach from my old unit. I was with him in 67 in the same hooch and would like to correspond with him. However I've emailed him at (cdeloach@miele.com) and it comes back to me saying it won't go through. I'm asking you if you can contact him and have him email me so we could correspond. I saw where he mentioned a Cpt Dallas that was shot in the spine (on Jan 27 or 29 1967 I think) I was in the helicopter with Dallas that day and would like to know what happened to him. I also have some pictures of the cav area from 67 and if I can find them I will forward to you put on the wed site. Thanks for your help--Sgt Roger Siebe

Charnol DeLoach - 11 July 03 -
My name is Charnol DeLoach, I was one of the Troop radio operators. Our main job was to keep track of where all of the Mustangs, Clowns and Outcasts were during the day. Lived in the first top bunk, after the bar, on the right, in Malfunction Junction. Looking at the troop area from Squadron HQ we were the one right across the parade field or the one right behind the troop 1st Sgt's hooch. Remember those little palm trees top planted along the line of hooches. He never could figure why ours wouldn't live. It was our favorite watering hole. Also flew "People Sniffer" and "Starlite" missions. Charnol DeLoach

Always glad to hear from my comrades in arms. I live in KCMO and still fly OH-6's for the Kansas City Police Department. No minigun any more, just two Glock 22's! Please email me at hmills16@aol.com

JOE L. HUSTON - 26 Sep 02 I served in D Troop from 1968 thru 1991. I served in the Gulf War with D Troop. At the Time we were running AH-1F Cobras and OH-58's. I was very pleased to find this site. I was an ARP from Jan 69 to Jan 70, call sign Darkhorse 4-4. LT Harris was my platoon Leader first. I just found out that he died on June 9, 2002 of cancer. 1SG Bausinger also after leaving Country as did SFC Goatcher, my Platoon Sergeant. Seems like we are a vanishing breed. I am looking for SGT Kim (I think his first name was Ronald). I believe he went to C/16 Troop when D troop went home. He was an ARP with D Troop. Let me know if the name rings a bell. Thanks, Prepared and Loyal, Welcome Home!

BRUCE W. RODGERS - 13 Jun 02 -
Hello, comrade! I Just recieved my latest issue of Vietnam magazine and was pleasantly surprised to find your website listed at the end of the article on the Quarterhouse outfit. I was a door gunner/crew chief on an OH-13s from June '66-67. We started out in tents (complete with appropriate holes so we could see the stars at night) and ended up in concrete hootches with metal roofs so we could hear the shrapnal when it hit!!! I plan on loooking through your website in more detail later, but I wanted to get this off to you ASAP. I know of two guys here in the Fremont, Ohio area who were stationed in Phu Loi. One was a in communications at the Chinook outfit acroos the airstrip from us, and the other was in the artillery unit down by the Artillary chapel and "post office" where I would wire my money home every MONTH. Hey, hollar back if you would. Love to get more info on those others who were enjoying listening to incoming mortars and filling sand bags!! Address available from Trooper.

He has a speech problem due to an anuerism of the brain in 1995. He
